  • Stock photo: Took my daughter and a friend to the zoo and was fortunate enough to catch this portrait of Sumatran tiger seemingly not in the best of moods. I am not sure if she spotted all us tourists and realized lunch was out of reach or whether it was just a bad hair day. In any case I was glad I had a 500 mm lens and monopod safely out of harms way to record this angry face. The sad thing is there are less than 200 of these magnificent creatures left in the wild.

  • Stock photo: Took the long road home and spotted this little rundown homestead near the Columbia River gorge. What I didn’t see until I got out to shoot was the deer that had invited himself to dinner! Seemed like it enjoyed the hospitality just fine.

  • Stock photo: After splashing around he decided he needed a bit of a spin dry. Since I had the 500 on the sense of movement was capture well I think. Reminded me of a wet dog shaking off, I was not at all tempted to tell him bad dog since he might have been hungry after all that shaking!

  • Stock photo: I was lucky enought to arrive in time for feeding of the Sea Otters. Crab was on the menu and they looked to love it. Floated on their back with their chest for a table they crack the crab legs and enjoy the feast. Now we know why crab is so expensive!

  • Stock photo: They are kind of interesting when you get a real close look. This is a live fly untouched by me. It was taken on a white building. I composited 4 successive frames in an effort to increase depth of field (the amount of the image in focus).

  • Stock photo: I was busy eyeing this bee gathering nectar on this red hot poker when an unexpected guest dropped by. A female Calliope hummingbird, decided to share the feast. Neither seemed to be bothered at all by the other. Making me wonder what about the birds and the bees? Beleive it or not his image was shot at 1/1000th, makes you wonder just how fast those wings are moving
