  • Stock photo: Ever notice how often the wind goes calm at or just after dawn or dusk. This morning there was a slight breeze blowing at dawn but by the time I had hiked into this alpine lake the sun was just kissing the lake for the first time and the mist was evaporating for every corner of the waters surface. The water was so calm it looked like glass and the colors of morning sky and the reflected trees and bushes was something to behold. it took a bit of tinkering with the split ND filters and a polarizer to get the lighting right and still show the clarity of the water and gorgeous reflection. For me this was the best of many shots taken from around this little lake that morning.( 50% of the commision earned from the sale of this or any other of my images on SP through October 31st will be donated to the American Red Cross Hurricane Releif Fund)

While wild, these monkeys are accustomed to human contact... often to the extent of attacking to steal hats, earrings, glasses... anything which isn’t bolted down. This one would always adopt this pose whenever my wife (standing to my right) would say the word "Action!".

  • Stock photo: Psalm 23:2 "He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside still waters." Not a sound to be heard as the day came to an end. Lake Kachess was completely still, as was the wind. A very calming place to be as the sun set on another day. The silence broken only by my 9yr old daughter yelling at me to hurry up and get back up that bank to the car and get her something to eat. It was a nice moment to reflect and then it was time to return to the present. We all need time to reflect!

  • Stock photo: Psalm 112:4 " Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,for the gracious and compassionate man." Taken in Rocky Mountain National PArk on a winter morning where I awaited the sunrise and it never really came.The clouds blocked the sun ount until some 1-1/2 hrs later. This light breaking through was my first glimpse of dawn that day. It cetainly gave me hope, for I had began to wonder if I driven up there to sit in the fog all day. Funny how days like this remind you of troubles lifted in life
